I want to buy - Part 3 of Micro Moments and Digital Marketing

Can we ask you to fast forward for a few moments to early January?  It’s OK, you can come back and enjoy the festive times ahead.  We’re only going to stay there for the duration of this post.

We’ve been talking about Micro Moments and if you have still to catch those articles you can learn more about “I want to Know” and “I want to Go” moments here.

However, if you don’t have time to read them just yet this is about Micro Moments; or information gathering and decision making by would be customers in extremely short bursts of activity.

Remember Mary & Jim from Birmingham who have pretty much decided to visit Dumfries for a short break as they want to see the Dark Skies Forest amongst other things.  Did we mention that Mary & Jim are also keen ramblers and enjoy traditional pub grub.  Mary is a keen book lover and Jim is a bit of an aviation buff.

Mary has done her research whilst watching TV over the festive holidays – in Micro bursts of activity following conversations with Jim.  Each time they have an idea, Mary quickly checks it out via her Smartphone.  Mary & Jim know there is plenty to keep them occupied during their short break and are ready to book their accommodation.

Are you ready for them to book their accommodation quickly and easily? 

Is their experience when they visit your website as hassle free as it can possibly be? 

Remember Mary is likely to be doing this on either her smartphone or tablet.  Can Mary see availability easily with clear pricing?  And most importantly is the book here process quick and simple to use.  Mary doesn’t want to have to change her reading glasses mid booking.  In this day and age of instant decisions and actions, Mary and Jim want to book there and then with the minimum of fuss.  After all they could try AirBnB for a first class user experience instead.

Mary & Jim are booked and looking forward to their break but they’ve still to decide what else to get up to when they stay.  That’s when “I want to know more” moments will come into play and we’ll talk some more about that next post.
