Scalp 4 Kids Website

Helping SCALP raise awareness as well as much needed funds online

It’s not just small businesses that need high-quality, low-cost websites. Charities need them too, and Inspire is pleased to help – at specially reduced rates.

A few months ago the Scottish Association for Cleft Lip and Palate (SCALP) (www.scalp4kids.org) got in touch with Inspire. They’d heard about the great work we do from one of our previous clients who was, as it happens, involved with the charity.

SCALP had a problem and wondered if we could help. Strictly speaking their current website did the job, but it was hard to use. In particular, the association found it hard to manage and keep up to date. SCALP wondered if Inspire could create something more modern, but within their tight budget as a charity.

We were happy to help, and reviewed the whole site from top to bottom. What we did in the end was evolutionary, not revolutionary. We kept their logo and most of the major elements of the site, but tidied it up to give it a more modern feel.

The biggest change was to their CMS, or content-management system. We got rid of their old, clunky system and put in ours. The result is that SCALP can now update most of the important elements of their new site, like events, sponsor logos and page content, quickly and easily on their own.

With a rejuvenated website the charity itself also looks much more dynamic. Details of their important meetings or fundraising events – as well as the generous support of their patrons – receive the publicity they deserve. Reviews of past events and selected pieces of news (all posted by SCALP) also help give potential patrons donors a better idea of what the charity does. GUIs clearly indicate how people can donate or get in touch with the association.

We’re proud to have been able to help SCALP, and we’re always keen to help other good causes when their websites start to let them down, too.

We know that charities need to look after their pennies. But we also know that investing in your website today will make it easier to achieve your goals tomorrow. Contact Inspire for details of our special charity rates and more information about how we can help you.
