Bruce Farms (stock control system case study) | Software Development
Brief
Bruce Farms produces soft fruit, peas, beans, blackcurrants, potatoes and cereals. They had an existing stock control system built using MS Access but their business had outgrown it. They constantly had problems with the system grinding to a halt and not being able to handle concurrent users.
What we did
We completely recreated the company’s internal stock control system from scratch so it would be fit for purpose and also so we could add a range of useful new features. We created the new system as an application accessible through any web browser on the company's Intranet.
Outcome
The new system was completed on time and ready for use in May 2009 ¬– just before the summer picking season started. All the staff at the company were very pleased with the new system and found it easy to use. A year or so later Bruce Farms came back to us to get their public website completely redesigned too.
